•� � More than 3.5 million beneficiaries of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, which provides food benefits to low-income individuals and families, lost those benefits between July and February.

•� � The changes come as new rules enacted in President Donald Trump’s “big beautiful bill” set in, with some states bracing for more losses in the coming months.
