Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has gone on the offensive following the state comptroller�s release of his report citing overspending in the PM�s Residence. Mr. Netanyahu states that the �Media carnival� surrounding the report is simply a smoke screen to divert the nation�s attention towards unseating him and bringing Tzipi Livni into the Prime Minister�s Office.

Regarding the report and the alleged wrongdoing by hiring the private electrician, Mr. Netanyahu adds that there are receipts and the necessary paperwork to document everything was handled in line with protocol and the law.

Regarding Livni, he explains the reason this is the situation, that there is an effort to shift national attention to other matters is simply because �She poses a danger to the nation�.
