Defense Minister Ehud Barak stated Iran�s nuclear efforts and advancing military capabilities pose an existential threat to Israel. The senior minister made his remarks on Monday before a military forum.

Barak stated Tehran�s nuclear program may result in a nuclear Mideast which may in turn pose an existential threat to Israel.

Barak�s statements came in the wake of a military alert in Iran, with reports stating there is a massive military buildup and troop call-up towards fortifying military positions, air defense and steps to protect nuclear facilities.
