MK (Ta�al) Dr. Ahmed Tibi on Tuesday referred to �settlements� as a �growth which must be removed�.

Visiting residents of the Arab neighborhood of Silwan Tuesday, homes slated for demolition because they are illegal, Deputy Knesset Speaker Tibi spoke of the �cancerous growth in the heart of Palestinian land that must be removed�.

The visit to Silwan was a solidarity move for the residents, and an equally strong act of defiance to the Knesset, which at the same time was conducting a pre-Jerusalem Day visit to Ir David, which Tibi earlier in the week stated �was occupied and not liberated�.

Tibi this week also introduced a bill to abolish the Jerusalem Law, which was enacted following the 1967 Six Day War, declaring Jerusalem the united undivided capital of the Jewish People. Tibi stated �Jerusalem is occupied� and added there will never be any agreement with the PA (Palestinian Authority) until eastern Jerusalem is �returned� to the Arabs to serve as the capital of a Palestinian state.
