Generally speaking, only cabinet ministers attend the weekly cabinet meeting, with the exception of Deputy Health Minister R� Yaakov Litzman, who is in essence an acting minister. Deputy ministers are not invited to attend, but this past Sunday, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister�s Office Gila Gamliel was invited to attend, to brief ministers on a project she is involved in, involving IDF veterans towards advancing education opportunities for them.

Despite the prestigious invitation, Gamliel did not attend, but instead found herself in a labor room, delivering a child. The cabinet heard a briefing from Eyal Gabbai, the director-general of the Prime Minister�s Bureau, who is working on the project with Gamliel.
