Monday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


IDF soldiers taking part in counter-terrorism operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron apprehended 6 suspects on Sunday night.

**One person sustained serious injury when a vehicle flipped over on Route 3 near Kfar Warburg on Monday.  The cause of the accident on the dry sunny day is unknown at this time.

**HazMat officials responded to a senior citizens complex on Arlosoroff St. in Petach Tikvah on Mon. morning after two cleaning agents that came in contact with one another released toxic gasses. No injuries were reported.

**Golani soldiers during the predawn hours shot and wounded an Arab near the Gaza border in the Kissufim area. He was transported to the trauma unit of Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva.

**11:45am: Air raid sirens heard in Ashkelon were a false alarm Baruch Hashem.

**Water Authority officials report that the Kinneret rose two centimeters from Sunday to Monday.

**The US dollar was trading against the NIS at 3.73 on Monday morning.

**The Settlement Council has appointed Naftali Bennett, 37, to replace Pinchas Wallerstein, who recently stepped down as the executive director of the council. Bennett is a former aide to then opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu. He is not a resident of Yehuda or Shomron, residing in Ra’anana.

**Two Israeli mistakenly entered PA-controlled Ramallah. They were escorted out unharmed.

**The 17-y/o Lebanese shepherd arrested along the Lebanese border appears to have crossed into Israeli unintentionally. He was taken for questioning after being apprehended on Sunday.
