Israel: Did Parents Severely Beat And Abuse Chronically Ill Child?

mishtWhile abuse cases in Israel are not generally covered in the chareidi media, this case is an exception due to the severity of the incident, which should sound an alarm in all communities.

Police over Shabbos arrested parents from Central Israel, in their 30s, suspected of conspiring to committed a crime as well as on suspicion of abusing and beating their helpless child R”L.

The case began last week when the child was transported to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer Hospital at which time medical personnel suspected abuse by the nature of some of his injuries.

The toddler suffers from muscular dystrophy and is hospitalized in critical condition. After receiving the report, a hidden camera was placed in the child’s hospital room. The video assisted police in detecting the horrific spectacle, the parents severely abusing the child, to the point they even tried to poison him.

After police reviewed the video evidence they arrested the parents who were arraigned on Sunday, 23 Shevat.

  1. “While abuse cases in Israel are not generally covered in the chareidi media…” But you have decided to? Based on whose decision?

  2. I can’t believe that you are all so quick to judge this couple negatively without knowing a thing! #2 – based on exactly WHAT to you know that they are reshaim? #3 – how dare you say that about Jews who you know NOTHING about other than what the mainstream media wrote!!! Do you know for a fact that they injected poison – have you tested it chemically or seen the results of such a test? What if they injected some herbal or homeopathic concoction, fully believing that this would help heal their beloved child but that the medical establishment would not believe in or agree to administer?! This is actually what I heard had happened. Even if they’re sadly mistaken – does that make them reshaim or worthy of extreme curses?!!! Please remember that these people have a chezkas kashrus and you are obligated by Torah law to judge them favorably. Reading an article with no proof is NOT devarim hanikarim. Hashem works middah k’negged middah. I don’t believe that you want Hashem to judge YOU so harshly.
