Sefer Torah Stolen From Yeshiva In Cottage Grove, MN

st.jpgA Sefer Torah valued in the tens of thousands was stolen from Yeshiva High School of the Twin Cities. The 2-foot tall Sefer Torah was reported stolen by officials from the Orthodox Jewish school when they noticed it had been stolen after finding a broken window at the school, Cottage Grove Police Department investigator Greg Malcolm told the SWC Bulletin.

School officials don’t know for sure how old the Sefer Torah is, but they think it is around 60 to 70 years old, which would mean it was created around the time of the Holocaust, Malcolm said.

Police are in the process of interviewing persons of interest in connection with the case.
