My car was once on fire and I jumped into it to save my hat and jacket. I asked my mashgiach and he told me that I had acted wisely. He said that there was a machloikes as to whether we need to put our hats and jackets in shaimos. Lfee roiv hapoiskeem one is mchuyov to put his hat and jacket in shaimos.
