He said they’re rapists they’re murderers they’re drug dealers I don’t think he meant that all of them are all 3.

Either way he implied that most of them are criminals so it doesn’t really a make a difference.

I dont know what he meant. I know what he said.

He has since had repeated oppurtunities to clarify what he said. He has yet to dod so, and repeatedly said he stands by what he said.

He didnt imply he outright said that most were “”They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”

    This isnt an implication.

by concluding ” And some, I assume, are good people!” He implied that this is his assumption and it is possible that in fact all are bringing drugs. . bringing crime. … rapists.” but this is just an implication.

I agree it doesnt imply, it is expressly stating. He said and I quote “…some I assume are good people” this means most are not.

you can quible that this isnt expressly stated but is merely implying that most are not. Fine I can accept that.

You cannot claim that “…some I assume are good people” does not mean that most are not, but rather are the things he had just said.

yehudayona, i dont think it’s isolated cases because theres a ruckus about it in the news now. thats only cuz trump made it into a ruckus. so many crimes go unmentioned/ barely recognized.

to be fair, i think his latest against mccain was totally uncalled for. i dont like the way he slams back at anyone who disses him. he cant “take it like a man”?! And the funny thing is, he’s still insisting “everyone loves me” lol.

We do love him, we love seeing him on screen, we love his outrageous comments. Donald Trump is a most loveable oddball, we just don’t quant him as President.

Likewise we would have loved Obama as an inspirational speaker but unfortunately he chose a different career.

Ubiquitin, The point of seemingly taking the arab side was specifically to show them that they needn’t rely on the Russkis. Also, Ike saw first hand the devastation in Europe qnd didn’t want to put the Russkis in a position that might precipitate global conflict. Two world wars was two too many. Just because the U.S. disagrees with an Israeli position or considers an Israeli action inimical to the U.S. interest that doesn’t constitute abandonment. Any President who put the interests of a foreign country or entity before the interests of the U.S. would justly be called a traitor.

I was in a taxi & we had a convo. He was pro Trump & I didn’t agree. I do think we need a republican pres. But what I did agree with him – that he will bring out the issues that the other candidates would like to sweep under the carpet! This is true with fellow republicans & especially true with the demoncrats.

    “seemingly”

You have got to be kidding, you can argue that it was int he US’s best interests to back Nasser (of course history proved that wrong) but you can targue that he only “seemingly” took the arab side.

“was specifically to show them that they needn’t rely on the Russkis”

Yes and it didnt work. Did it?

“Just because the U.S. disagrees with an Israeli position or considers an Israeli action inimical to the U.S. interest that doesn’t constitute abandonment. “

Agreed (as in the Iran peace deal). However threatending sanctions certainly constituent abandonment

“Any President who put the interests of a foreign country or entity before the interests of the U.S. would justly be called a traitor.”

so you can argue that he was right to abandon Israel as you beielve it was in the US’s best interests but you cnat argue that it wasnt abandonment

Ubie, Opposing Israel on the Sinai issue or any other single issue does not constitute abandonment. Yes, the U.S. did threaten sanctions against Israel if they did not withdraw. So? that’s what I was calling ‘tough love”in my original post. The U.S. also opposes a unilateral strike on Iran by Israel and threatened to shoot down any Israeli aircraft that violated U.S. controlled airspace in Iraq while at the same time supplying Israel with the latest weapons and training, not to mention billions in aid, valuable defense contracts and having Israel’s back in the U.N. against almost the whole rest of the world. Does that also constitute abandonment?

Just because you occasionally have to punish your child does’t mean that you’re abandoning him. In many respects the modern State of Israel a child of the U.S. Tough love is still love.

The US is not Israel’s parent. And even if it were, Israel is old enough to decide for herself.

redleg there is a differnce between opposing and sactions. threatening sactions if an “ally” doesnt do waht you want is the exact deffinition of abandonment.

You may have a different definition that isnt grounded in realirty, but that would make conversation difficult

“Does that also constitute abandonment? “

If shooting down aircraft isnt abandonment I think you need a new dictionary! (though IVe never seen any reliable sources for that story so Ive left it off since it is a better example of abandonment than 56)

“In many respects the modern State of Israel a child of the U.S. Tough love is still love. “

This is nonsense! ISrael is an ally not a child. If your friend thretens to take stuff away from you or punch you if tyou dont do what he wants, I have news for you he is abandoning you.

The notion thta Israel need the US’spermission to do what is in its own best interest is offensive. (Collin Powell snapped at a reporter in 2001 for suggesting what you are, Ill dig up source later)

In the newest poll out today, from ABC/Washington Post, Trump has taken a clear lead in first-place and has 24% in the new poll, with Scott Walker in second place at 13% and Jeb Bush at 12%.

Trump gained 18 points among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents that identify as white evangelical Protestants compared to the last poll.

Bashing McCain for no reason sent to far. Being shot down didn’t make him a hero. Refusing an offer of early release because his father was an admiral unless all prisoners were released, and undergoing torture because of his refusal, that made him a hero. Trump avoided Viet Nam via deferments and had the chutzpa to criticize McCain. McCain has made countless visits to wounded vets at Walter Reed WIGHOUT camera coverage, which is why Trump doesn’t know about it

was very surprised to hear mccain say re:trump’s comments, that he doesnt owe HIM an apology, rather all veterans. he seemed pretty humble in stark contrast to trump

addict, i think the republicans have no chance as it is, with or without trump. (even before he started saying outrageous things…) in polls, clinton beats any republican by a landslide. which goes against common sense, in my opinion

Don’t be nispoel from this poll. Trump is a wacko, so he will get most of the wacko vote. The normal candidates are all dividing up the normal vote, and there are, what, thirty other candidates? So he’s got more than anybody else, but it’s not a big deal.

Once they’re down to two or three candidates, he will be outpolled.

    CNN had a story today

“In many cases, I probably identify more as Democrat,” Trump told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer in a 2004 interview. “It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans”

To those of you who said that Trump everything Trump says is thr truth (Poster, Mimzee and Joseph)

So none of you were able to specify if you felt his comments regarding illegal immigrants where true (regarding most of them being criminals, drug dealers and/or rapists,)

(You all either ignored the question, denied that “some I assume are good” meant most were not, or reinterpreted his comment as reffering to the illegal act of entering the country (which of course would make the entire comment non-sensical))

    How about his latest

Do any of you believe this is true?

    #1093228

Trump is a nut-job who disrespects everything except his own over-inflated ego. the only good he does is call certain issues for what they are, and not hide behind political double-talk. people like him because he is a breath of fresh air in the stale field that is politics. however, when it comes down to election time, there is absolutely no way in the world he will win. If he does, Americans are way stupider than I thought. We need a leader who will stand strong while still having the tact not to offend everybody unnecessarily. His latest attention-grabbing move of revealing Graham’s phone number is a pathetic, childish act of revenge. He is unfit, in every sense of the word, to serve as president.

Can someone explain to me why it’s a good thing to have a president who is open and honest?

Practically speaking, the only kind of government that can do well with people like that is a dictatorship.

Governments with democracy and divided powers need people who can hold it in and compromise and deal with people.

A quick, friendly message to all Americans out there:

There are actual people who actually live in your actual country, adults, with the intellectual capacity not only to legally vote, but to make their views on democracy known, amongst them staunch defenders of democracy, who would actually vote for this man. And not only some, but many.

What is wrong with the place?!
