@ujm – Keep telling yourself that. Your post history shows otherwise.

@AAQ – I don’t get the deletion of the thread either. Once we got past the hatchet job part, that was a really tame discussion heading into Ashkenazi and Sephardic methodologies. Really tame, especially in comparison to the more bombastic threads here.

    @YYA
    – I find that most American Jews are very unfamiliar with life in Israel.

    Aaq,

Are you saying the only “good goyim” are those that had some shaychus to a Jew?

    #2426194

We had before a hypothetical discussion what will happen with Rambam in our generation? Will he go to Lakewood or/and MIT and what will happen after. We probably have some of the answers in the case of the Chacham.

ZSK: The proof is in the pudding. Every reader can review the thread and see that you started engaging in ad hominem attacks simply because you disagreed with opinions expressed here that you felt were “too Jewish” or “too right-wing” or however you wish to define the expressed opinions that you vehemently disdained with such contempt and aversion that you callously and improperly referred to your interlocutor as someone who “hates Eretz Yisrael, his fellow Bnei Yisrael” as well as a “sonei Yisrael”.

    Ujm:

“Right wing” or “too Jewish” has nothing to do with my reaction.

A significant portion of your post history is a nasty screed and canard against the RZ Tzibbur that demonstrates your true colors – a deep-seated hatred for that community and EY. This thread continues such.

Quit the darvo already. You are not the victim here.

Anyone can look at your posts, then look at mine, and figure out that my reaction to this thread – which never should have been started in the first place – is based on your documented post history.

    End of discussion.

    > that you felt were “too Jewish” or “too right-wing”

    This is a self-delusion that
    – a group of people who do not go to college and dress in Polish 18th century levush are “too Jewish”.
    – group of people advocating for governments subsidizing their communities and voting for left-wing politicians when they do that – are “too right wing”

none: Hashem is my one and only master.

AAQ: Who do you think you’re kidding? Religiously, the Chareidim (Yeshivish and Chasidim) are the religious-right whereas the Modern Orthodox and Religious Zionists are the religious-left. Yourt blabbling about economic issues, not religious ones.

ZSK; And you are once again left empty handed when challenged for even a single example, and all you can blabble about is “This thread continues such.” How on earth pointing out a universally agreed fact that Israel is currently in Golus is (to quote you) a “nasty screed and canard against the RZ Tzibbur”, is something only Sherlock Holmes might be able to resolve. Even if you disagree with such a universally agreed fact, how that turns it into a nasty screed will forever remain a mystery for the ages.

But fear not; you already declared in your last post that for you this is the “End of discussion.” That’ll help you avoid needing to answer the unanswerable why you engage in ad hominems, when others have been nothing but polite to you (until you went off the rails, and you couldn’t produce a single example otherwise when asked. even if they disagreed with your religious-left Zionistic worldview.

Unless, of course, end of discussion means nothing to you feel another need to lodge additional bombs into the discussion.

    > Chareidim (Yeshivish and Chasidim) are the religious-right whereas the Modern Orthodox and Religious Zionists are the religious-left.

You are supposed to turn from their words not right, not left … I get it that we live in the left-wing society in multiple dimensions and many of us (you and me included) rail against the “left”. I can assure you that if US will become one big Alabama, or you will go back to Middle Ages, you will feel oppressed by the “religious right”.

We are talking about religious disagreement: should we keep away from the society or should we interact with that. Would then Rashbi be charedi and Yosef HaTzaddik a modern-O?
