I would love to know what you mods’ hours are. I sometimes have to wait several hours for my posts to be approved while other times it takes only a couple of minutes…Do you have set hours or do you work at your own convenience…? If you do have set hours- can you please post them?
Maybe they can find more volunteers to moderate, to fill in when the other mods are not available.

first of all you should already know who you are
secondly i agree with you, i dont see the problem with posting moderator hours, but you know those security guys. i think one of them is a prior tsa security agent.

I heard the training to be a mod is extremely rigorous.
I’ll say something that the moderators are probably too modest to say:
– They do what they do as a chesed.
– There is no pay involved.
– The hours can be unpredictable.
Thanks they should receive for their time and efforts in filtering, editing, approving and (sometimes) explaining isn’t always forthcoming.
As stated elsewhere, I wouldn’t want their job with all that it entails.

On another note: don’t you think it’s time to make a Meleva Malka for the coffee room members? If anonymity is an issue we can all march in with bags on our heads. I mean, what are we gonna do when WIY becomes a Chassan, is he not going to invite his CR Chabura and Chavrusos?

You guys are great. Keep up the great work. Although I do agree it would be helpful to get a grip on the hours around here so we know when to expect our comments not to show up for 1-3 hours.
Two items:
#1- We are working to see if we can have an option showing when a mod is online.
#2- More mods are being added in the very near future. They are currently in an undisclosed location undergoing tough training.

Mother in Israel: Didn’t you see the mechitzah inside the CR?Confidentially, I have heard that d/t a world-wide shortage of moderators, YU is adding a PhD program in “moderation”. Entry requirements are extremely rigorous and the required thesis will make Pulitzer Prize winners tremble in their boots.
PS: I shall not apply for this program – even if asked.
