mods- how do i log in from a cell phone? It doesn’t give me the option to type my username and password- is there some secret i am missing out on? Thanks

On many mobile browsers there’s an option to use mobile mode or classic/pc…mode. You may find that option either all the way at the top or more likely all the way at the bottom of a web page it may be a small link that you will have to click so zoom in and check the bottom. Also some browsers have it as a built in setting or have it as a downloadable add on where you can select to view things in mobile or classic/pc/desktop mode.
What phone and model do you have?
its not my phone i dont have access on my phone but i had tried it on a few phones dont remember whats the model, but what should i press mobile mode or the other one, probably the other one right? And thank you!

Mobile mode is usually much more limited, try the other modes. However it is possible that the internet on some of the older phones may not be sophisticated enough to handle all websites. If its a newer phone especially a smartphone (blackberry, android, iphone….) it should work just fine.

Mod-29 et al,
When a thread is hijacked — like the Radical Solution to the Shidduch Crisis — can I suggest that the offending posts be deleted en masse (i.e. all the offending posts) rather than closing a good discussion?
This way the productive discussion can continue, while the stupid posts are removed and that part of the thread is terminated.

I’m just wondering. Am I saying bad things? I’ve noticed a number of my posts that don’t seem to be going up that I don’t recognize as being spiteful or anything like that. Am I being unintentionally mean or are you just busier than usual today?

Why, when I put in a url theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/_____, does it goes straight to the coffee room home page, not to the topic I put in, while with other topics, it goes to that topic’s page? I think the topic was approved and then it disappeared or something.
I just looked at the newly started and ended thread about hiking that Cedarhurst started. A moderator ended it complaining something to the effect that he is really me. Don’t you think this is getting out of hand already? It’s one thing to make jokes and have fun, but this is really “a bit over the top”.

Okay Mod, now you know why I’ve used 5 names almost every day for the past week.
The one you know is me you censor needlessly, deleting on-topic comments that are part of the threads conversation that are simple responses to others posts, and nothing objectionable. Yet from my experiment in the last week, 50% of them are not published or deleted after they were published by a different moderator.
The other 4 active names that you haven’t associated with me, gets an (almost) 100% approval rate by the moderators.
That is why you will not know what my screen names are unless I feel like letting you know as I have with some others. And when you try guesstimating you will be blocking half a dozen or a dozen other posters who are not me, thinking you were smart and “caught him”, while hitting the wrong people. Block away.
Do not confuse cause and effect and do not create new facts. We are reacting, not ACTING. Pick one name, let us know which you choose and we can go back to NORMAL.

Mods? I tried posting info on buying perfume/cologne today. It was from a site that tells me of deals. I tried posting twice today about a site that was having a very good sale but it wasn’t posted. I’m sorry if I posted the website and I am not allowed. I have no affiliation with slickdeals.net or perfumania, you can check that out, and I was trying to help out the klal.
Mods- last night I tried posting something on the onlysimchas thread. it was deleted twice, no explanation. when I tried a 3rd time, I specifically asked: ‘Mod, please explain why my comment is inappropriate’. again deleted, no explanation. I was just trying to say: ‘maybe the posters were referring to the engagement photos, as opposed to the wedding pictures.’
Mod 80– you usually, participate on topics, are vocal, & explain things… please be so kind as to respond. My feelings were really hurt; I felt insulted; I logged off, & haven’t made a comment since. inotherwords, I took it very personally. thank you.
I was not the one who moderated them. However, you are correct that there was nothing wrong with your noting that usually the pictures on onlysimchas are engagement pictures. I don’t know why they were deleted, but I hesitate to undo what another moderator did. I and we are sorry.

With due respect, I am just curious why did the Y.W. Editor close the cholent thread? I understand that there are previous threads, but once the thread is already opened, and we are in the middle of a disscussion, what is the problem to keep it going?

Sorry for bothering you mods- I’m just wondering- when I want to edit a post of mine that was put up 30 seconds before does it sometimes not let me? I click edit and it sends me back to the coffee room homepage but it doesn’t let me do any editing afterwards. Am I doing something wrong?

im trying to find a thread i saw earlier today, but the front page only has about the last 4 or 5 hours of threads on it. i cant find the right search to put into chofetzchaim’s search link to find it with either. wasnt there more threads showing up on the main page before?? were some taken off or reduced???
