so that one must have been chomeitz, no?

    why?

you just did something to my brain, random question,

why does matzah have to be baked in 18 minutes? where does the time come from?

kapusta: That is how long it takes for the bread to rise.

Where did April fools day originate?

kapusta, it was chomeitz because they threw the dough into a bag an left. it wasn’t being handled the entire time – it was left alone.

aussie, matza is chomeitz way faster than in 18 minutes- if it’s left alone and not being played with for even a minute (or i forgot how many seconds) it’s already chomeitz.

moish, I believe that this is a common misconception people have. They did not put the dough in the bag and let it rise “on their backs,” as is commonly believed. They were leaving in a hurry and didn’t allow the dough to rise, rather they just baked it, as is/was, hence, unrisened(I just made up that word) bread, aka, matzah.

    unrisened

anonymisss, AOB could probably confirm this, but the correct word would probably be unrisen

or maybe just bread that didn’t rise? 😉

random question: If someone realizes that for whatever reason, they didn’t say birchos hashachar by the time it’s dark, are they supposed to say it or not?

you think? i dunno – i never thought it was really on their backs/shoulders but you think they baked real kosher matzas? i wonder.

and no, we’re not more serious. we just don’t LOL from every stupid little thing because we have a real sense of humor.

moish, can I include myself in that category even though I’m not a guy? I always feel for the people who laugh at stupid things because they think it’s real humor, a shame they don’t know any better… I guess I agree with you on this one, (???) or maybe just that girls are in general more laughy types.

hey, kapusta, all this talk about bread/matza reminded me, did you ever find out about answering amen? I’m curious what the halacha is.

Ok, I can’t judge, I really know nothing about you, where you’re coming from, or your family situation. I am sure that you have a valid reason that you are this way. I still think that it’s a good idea to have one person to ask such questions to, even if it’s someone who can find out an answer for you. All the best!

kapusta- why is it not a good topic? I think it’s a very important one actually. There’s absolutely nothing to be embarrassed of to ask your father/brother/teacher if you’re allowed to say amen after you washed. It’s a smart, deep, legit sheilah. I can’t understand what might be the problem…

AOB, you’re the CR english major, at least since you rejected my title of being second in command (I think it was you!)

aussie thanx for the confirmation, now you and AOB can share the english major title…

looks like everyone has questions but nobody has answers.

kapusta: i’m not sure what question you’re referring to. do you mind repeating it?

ames: sorry, i have no idea. otherwise i would answer your question. i know how it feels 😉

my question that didn’t get answered: can someone who has their driving permit drive in a different state (than where they live & got the permit)??

kapusta, thanks for asking about her. Baruch hashem, I’m very proud of her right now. She got a job for the days that she’s off before pesach which is great. She feels like she’s doing something, she feels good when she has money in her pocket, and most important, she’s not bored, which is really awful for her (for most people.) How she spends her free time, I don’t ask. I know that the most important thing for her right now is to feel good about herself.

Now, to put you back into the spotlight: jk, i wouldn’t do that to you.

aussie, I think that’s the correct word. Thanks.

    AOB, my other what?

ames, IIRC (thanx 39!) you once said (way back when) that you asked Rabbi Miller zt”l in the street one time, as for my opinion, I think people like that must be used to it and I don’t see why not, I probably would be shy but force myself to do it.

I’m really not this type with all these issues (do I come off as being like that??? well no personal issues but we wont get into that now) and it’s not such a major issue or anything but I just don’t think it’s worth it because it’ll cause trouble and it probably wont help me and I do have someone to ask most of these questions too, and one more thing, thanx!

(that gets an award for the longest run-on)
