Me, a shtramel? No, I wear a shtern tichel, and sit in the ezras nushim. How else do you think I’m able to get all the inside info on how women think?
October 31, 2010 6:57 pm at 6:57 pm #902942SacrilegeMemberOh! so that was who I saw in the womans section….
November 1, 2010 2:42 pm at 2:42 pm #902943blinkyParticipantwell have to call him BP Mommy
November 1, 2010 2:52 pm at 2:52 pm #902944bptParticipantThanks for not blowing my cover, Sac. But what were you doing in Monroe?
November 1, 2010 3:00 pm at 3:00 pm #902945blinkyParticipantSorry Monroe Mommy:)
November 1, 2010 3:01 pm at 3:01 pm #902946SacrilegeMemberDont you know they have the best Kokosh?!
November 1, 2010 3:02 pm at 3:02 pm #902947cokeMemberBPT- I thought BP Mommy was busy with her own website somewhere else….. Imamother or something like that.
November 1, 2010 3:04 pm at 3:04 pm #902948cokeMemberBPT- you should try Monsey- we have pretty good food here too!
November 1, 2010 4:47 pm at 4:47 pm #902949squeakParticipantThe screen names are getting longer and longer, and the posts are moving almost off the end the page. Let’s have a competition- who can come up with the longest screen name. It has to be misspelled and full of texting shorthand.
I’ve got one- thrssooooomch2Bgr8ful4thatImlikeomgalldayandnitewiledavening
Does this belong in the kvetch thread?
November 1, 2010 5:14 pm at 5:14 pm #902950WIYMemberSacrilege
I have a Seminary question. Which of the more yeshivish or Heimish (I mean for regular Brooklyn girls) Seminaries (anywhere in the world) would you say spends the most time discussing Hashkafah and really gives the girls a tangible understanding of Yiddishkiet and real spiritual growth?
November 1, 2010 5:20 pm at 5:20 pm #902951blinkyParticipantloliluvusinglolitsjstathinguaddon2e/tnewaysgottagetbak2workttyllol
November 1, 2010 5:29 pm at 5:29 pm #902952SacrilegeMemberWIY

I didnt go to a good Seminary in that regard…
A friend of mine went to Seminar and it sounded outstanding. BYA also sounds good, altho more academic. The new ones werent around in my day but I’ve heard good things…
Wish I could be of more assistance.
November 1, 2010 5:52 pm at 5:52 pm #902953shimmelMemberfor all you know!!!!!!!!!!!! Bpt are you a woman???????????????????????????????????/
November 1, 2010 6:23 pm at 6:23 pm #902954bptParticipantNo, Shimmel; I’m a bonfide gavrah (and have the non-shaved chest to prove it!)
November 1, 2010 6:40 pm at 6:40 pm #902955WIYMemberBP Totty
Lets not forget that some people like to keep their appetites. 🙂
November 1, 2010 6:41 pm at 6:41 pm #902956WIYMemberSacrilege
Thanks for trying to help maybe Ill just open a thread and see what happens.
November 1, 2010 6:43 pm at 6:43 pm #902957shimmelMemberoh yea!
But, you hvent answered! Are you honest about not wearing a shtreimel? I promise i dont look down at shtreimel wearers
November 1, 2010 8:51 pm at 8:51 pm #902959blinkyParticipantBp Totty this ones for you- im not sure where to put it but being that you like to talk about cars (after all you are a male:)
In the Yated there was an article about the 3rd bachur’s trial in Japan, and the judge wanted to make sure that he really doesn’t know about sports and drugs, and any other outside influences as he claimed. So the judge asked him what the Olympics are, so he said he thinks it some kind of car! The judge and the attendees laughed- dont worry the defense said that its for his benefit that he answered that! Just shows that he really doesn’t know these things and its obvious he is not into drugs at all!
NOTE: Dont worry i am not poking fun at all! I think its amazing. I just thought it was a cute story to post.
November 1, 2010 9:21 pm at 9:21 pm #902960bptParticipantShimmel – Honest truth, no I don’t wear one. Though my shtramel friends tell me its inevitable, if I don’t move from BP quick. Either me, our my kids, but they feel its a done deal at some point.
Blinky – While my kids know cars to some extent, they did not know the answer to all the following questions (and they don’t have access to google)
Who is:
Dolly Parton (This they did not know)
Che Guevara (no to this one too
Keith Richards (no idea on this ons
Mike Tyson (remebered the name, but not sure why)
Michael Jordan (this they knew)
So I guess all bochurim are sheltered to some extent!
November 2, 2010 12:51 am at 12:51 am #902961WIYMemberBP Totty
Surprised they don’t know who Mike Tyson is. Baruch Hashem the sheltering has worked. However it couldn’t hurt them to know some history so that they’d know that Che Guevara is the guy that discovered America.
November 2, 2010 3:37 pm at 3:37 pm #902962blinkyParticipantSqueak- in response to the screen names, mine is bigger then yours so does that mean i won?
November 2, 2010 4:08 pm at 4:08 pm #902963cokeMemberBPT- you mean you have big boys? i thought you had younger children…..
November 2, 2010 4:09 pm at 4:09 pm #902964squeakParticipantI guess you won. I’m just hoping that no one registers a name that long, or all the posts will be pushed off the right hand side of my screen 8D
November 2, 2010 4:45 pm at 4:45 pm #902965blinkyParticipantwell squeak someone just posted a name that is very long- unless its you:)- “theresjustsomuch2bethankfulfor”
November 2, 2010 4:51 pm at 4:51 pm #902966squeakParticipantYeah, that’s what prompted my kvetch 🙂
November 2, 2010 5:00 pm at 5:00 pm #902967blinkyParticipantYou sure your not bored and its really you and you decided to kvetch about yourself?
November 2, 2010 5:27 pm at 5:27 pm #902968bptParticipantCoke – Lets put it this way; my kids are young enough to think they’re smarter than me, but old enough to know that they’re really not as smart as they think they are.
That’s what us parents call “the competetive edge”. Might not be nimble, but sure think quick!
November 2, 2010 5:30 pm at 5:30 pm #902969bptParticipantAnd WIY –
I think you’re confusing Che with the person that invented the Chi pet.
Besides – everyone knows that America was discovered by George Washington. Its spelled out pretty clearly in the Constitution.
November 2, 2010 6:07 pm at 6:07 pm #902970blinkyParticipantRight and Christopher Colombus was the first American President
November 2, 2010 6:51 pm at 6:51 pm #902971bptParticipantI see you paid attention on school, Blink.
Its also why 6th ave in NYC (also called Avenue of America) terminates at Columbus Circle, at 59th street, to commemorate the 59 states.
And critics say the CR is full of people with no practical knowledge!
November 2, 2010 7:23 pm at 7:23 pm #902972blinkyParticipantAnd thats why the GW brigde is in America because Mr. Washington discovered America. It feels so good to know that my parents tuition paid off….Those critics have a lot to be ashamed of.
P.S. when did my name become “blink”?
November 2, 2010 7:27 pm at 7:27 pm #902973WIYMemberBPT
“I think you’re confusing Che with the person that invented the Chi pet.
Chia pets you mean. Chi pets are what Chinese martial artists have. Haha.
Besides – everyone knows that America was discovered by George Washington. Its spelled out pretty clearly in the Constitution.”
Uh no actually its pretty clear in the constitution that Napoleon was the first president.
November 2, 2010 7:30 pm at 7:30 pm #902974blinkyParticipantWIY- you dope, Napoleon was the first man on the moon! tsk tsk, you weren’t listening in school…
November 2, 2010 7:38 pm at 7:38 pm #902975bptParticipantSame way Sacrelige is Sac, and people call me BPT. Sorry if it sounded off Blinky, no offense was intended (in fact, quite the opposite).
But I refuse to call you Blinquie. I can’t stand the way the Australians pronounce things
November 2, 2010 7:40 pm at 7:40 pm #902976WIYMemberblinky
Napoleon Armstrong you mean?
November 2, 2010 7:42 pm at 7:42 pm #902977charlie brownMemberAnd thats why the GW bridge is in America because Mr. Washington discovered America.
actually only one side of the GW bridge is in America. The other side, if you’ve ever been couragious enough to cross it, is in New Jersey – a foreign country to true New Yawkers.
Also, I’m pretty sure that Columbus was not a president but a retailer. How else could he have invented the Columbus day sales?
November 2, 2010 7:42 pm at 7:42 pm #902978blinkyParticipantRight, and Neil Bonaparte was a Spanish leader.
No prob NJ totty:) cuz you are only cutting out the “Y” from my name not like “riledge” from Sac. Also you meant the Hungarians not Australians- right?
WIY- sorry for calling you a dope, ppl make mistakes sometimes, so even though napolean wasn’t prez like you said, but it was colombus, it was dopey of me to call you that.
November 2, 2010 8:11 pm at 8:11 pm #902979not IMemberBPT I love the Australina Accent. Not sure how it has shechus here anyway.. In seminary we had a few Australian girls and we were imitating their accents the whole year!
November 2, 2010 8:16 pm at 8:16 pm #902980WIYMemberblinky
Mochel. Its ok. I love how we are rewriting history here. I hope nobody is sitting there reading this and thinking “wow they are so smart I wish I knew my history like they do!”
November 2, 2010 8:18 pm at 8:18 pm #902981bptParticipantOk, Not I,.. you got me there. Back in the days, we all used to copy Crocodile Dundee
November 2, 2010 8:24 pm at 8:24 pm #902982blinkyParticipantHow else could he have invented the Columbus day sales?
sorry Charlie who am i to disagree with our illustrious historians in the CR? It must be reffering to another Colombus!
WIY- whats there to be ashamed of? We know our history- Your just being modest.
November 2, 2010 8:38 pm at 8:38 pm #902983not IMemberBPT So you have a tv do you?
Shucks now you can’t imitate him though! Sure you found someone else since..!
November 2, 2010 9:27 pm at 9:27 pm #902984bptParticipantTV? You’re kidding me, right? Croc Dundee was a movie in the 80s.
And for the record, both me and Mrs grew up on television, but gave it up when we got married
November 2, 2010 9:34 pm at 9:34 pm #902985blinkyParticipantGood for you
November 2, 2010 9:50 pm at 9:50 pm #902986bptParticipantWas not easy, I’ll admit. But in retrospect, one of the smartest moves we made. Made our marriage and kids what they are.
When I go to relatives that have one, I’m stunned by what I see. And I’m not talking about the pritzus (which is beyond belief). I’m talking about the violence, the depravity, the total disregard for human life, the treachery you can see (and internalize) in 3 hours.
November 5, 2010 3:01 pm at 3:01 pm #902987squeakParticipantIt looks like my informant was correct. It’s a Friday thing- and it’s across from apple bank
November 5, 2010 3:25 pm at 3:25 pm #902988blinkyParticipantsqueak- huh?
November 5, 2010 3:34 pm at 3:34 pm #902989charlie brownMemberblinquie,
he’s talking about the wagon that will help him find Dr. Pepper.
All CR units please look out for a wagon across from an apple bank and report your findings here.
oops, I’m supposed to be lurking.
November 9, 2010 8:21 pm at 8:21 pm #902990bptParticipantSac –
Forget the Mase; Aston Martin’s newest rocket just made its debut (and boy, is it quick)
And if you really want to turn heads on OP (and OOT’ers, that’s Ocean Parkway, not Opening Post) for 1.9 mil (yes, million), you can get the One-77. But you gotta act quick, only 77 are being made.
And BTW, I did see the write-up about the new Hyundai, but have not seen one yet. Prob because I’m too busy scopin’ out the new Odyssseys in BP (drool, droool).
But its your budget, so spend it as you see fit! (But my vote is for the Odyssey)
November 9, 2010 8:43 pm at 8:43 pm #902991WIYMemberBPT
Which new Hyundai the Equus?
