I was never really an Aston Martin gal (maybe its the British engineering 😉 Although if I HAD to settle for one I’d go with the Vantage.

Besides, why waste a beauty like that in BK when you can let her free on the open roads?

If you are already spending a small fortune, you might as well go with Bugatti Veyron. Along with the ultimate luxury car you get the bragging rights for owning the worlds most expensive car.

You sure? I think the Bugatti owns the bragging rights now with the price tag just under 2 Mill.

a thread was ended and a user’s screen name was blocked because this person had too many screennames.

    How many are too many?

I only have one, should I have more?

You should have minimum 8. MINIMUM!

Seriously, I mean I’m questioning how much of a life I have for commenting so much in the CR.

But to have multiple screen names….

I could see the CR being a problem, if you spend all your free time here. Like, say a day off, and instead of going somewhere, or doing something around the house, you spend the day CR’ing. Or if you have more screen conversations in a day, than you do face-to-face.

But for the vast majority of us, CR is just another version of a newspaper or a radio broadcast. It fuels our (or at least my) outside conversations with new info / material.

I’d say its probably a full time job to keep up multiple personalities.

I think for the most part everyone has 1 screen name maybe some have a 2nd that they rarely use. Or maybe I’m wrong and this place is full of schizophrenics…

Aside from the regular character you normally see: Wolf, Popa, Blinky…

I’m guessing all the other new ones, or the ones you rarely see are either one or two people with many personalities or one of the regulars with an alter-ego.

I can’t think of a reason I would need to screen names. My writing style and opinions would be readily apparent, so what good would a new name do me? I may have different reactions to different topics, but in essense, its still the singular me.

Unless the Mods start limiting posts to only 20 per day per name… then I’ll need a whole phonebook of screen names!

    #903006

    I can’t think of a reason I would need to[sic] screen names

well perhaps one day you might say something about, well i dont know, perhaps a bear in the woods or something. you might then feel a need to take cover under a different screen name for a while.

But your rantings aren’t miscellaneous- every word you say here is qualified legal advice, right? Otherwise, what was all the fuss about the other day?

I can’t think of a reason I would need to screen names.

Well, let’s say that you wanted to say something ridiculous and controversial, but were afraid to be all alone in the argument with everyone else against you. You might think it’s a good idea to create alts to back you up and make you seem normal (oh, what a slippery slope :))

My writing style and opinions would be readily apparent, so what good would a new name do me?

So is the style and opinions of the biggest offender, but that doesn’t seem to stop him 🙂

“every word you say here is qualified legal advice, right?”

Wrong. Unfortunately, until I take the bar I am not qualified to dole out legal advice…

*looks around* I dont want certain members to remind me (what I already know) what is ethical for me to do.

“create alts to back you up”

You mean like imaginary friends? Squeak, the day I do that, is the day I check out accomodations at Creedmore.

And as far as the “biggest offender”, one day I expect to be “outed” by someone in the CR. The last thing I want to hear is, “That man is a phony”.

Trust me, my outside self is in total sync with my screen self. Good, bad or otherwise, its who I am, and I can’t present myself as someone else. (Besides, that would mean getting multiple sets of clothing, and I hate shopping)

Its ok I don’t think we are for each other either. No offense.

I’m somewhat surprised that you can say you don’t know what you are looking for when you are the age you are and have been dating that long. Don’t you think its about time to figure that out?

Pen on paper, if you want me to give you the boring stats I can say: Professional, Talmid Chacham etc etc… but nothing is etched in stone, if a good friends tells me they think something is a good idea, I’ll give it a try, sometimes things just work.

    You want a Talmid Chacham

There’s a Ben Torah and then there’s a Talmid Chacham. Unless a guy is naturally brilliant and retains most of what he learns or a huge masmid and knows a lot he can’t be a Talmid Chacham. To earn that title takes years maybe a really serious Kollel guy who is learning shtark may earn that title by about 30 years old or so.

Oh and you also want him to be a professional? Start dating guys who are over 30….

IMHO, Blinky IS a good friend, and an objective one, at that. Unless you know WIY in real life, you might just want to consider her suggesstion

Thanks for trying to set us up but I honestly think we arent for each other. Our views on things dont exactly match up. Besides, shes looking for a professional and a Talmid Chacham of which I am neither.

Assuming professional, brilliant, learning and good middos (and sense of humor and the ability to get rid of any and all herring aromas, I dare add) are a given, how does one get to find out if he’s not your type?

A friend that knows a guy MORE than I do. Blinky and I probably know WIY about the same, and I know myself, not much, but slightly more than Blinky.
