why does it take more than 15 minutes at times to see our post?
The moderators are all volunteers and are online when they can be. Sometimes no moderator is available to approve posts.Hello??? Any mods around? The CR is so sloooow lately. Once in 2 hrs we get 3 new posts.
Not that I’m putting the blame on the mods, but we do need some stimulation here!
I want to thank Moderator 80 for moderating that heavy topic that gave him a headache.

I have a question for the mods-
The whole Sukkos I was afraid to post since we were by relatives and I was concerned that if one of the members of any of the host families has a YWN account the mods might see the same IP address and accuse me of having two accounts.
Is this a legitimate concern?
Why didn’t you ask if any of them have an account here?
you can post from as many ip addresses as you want. this was never a problem.
some int providers change their customers ip addresses frequently.
So how do the mods always know when one person is using two user names?
that would be the converse of your question
when the two names share the same ip address
So let’s say I post something from the same IP address as one of the members of the host family- are you going to block one of our usernames?
a little tricky to explain but it depends on circumstances
but in any case no one is blocked for this

Edit it to blank within the first 20(?) or so minutes it allows you to edit.

but then its a blank post- i once did that and it came up blank
The mods will delete it if it is blank.
When you edit it a post, it goes back into the unapproved posts queue.

It’s true, it does become a blank post. But somewhere in mod-ville there is an OCD gene that is frustrated by blank posts, so one or more mods are actually compelled to delete it.

There are a few ways to do it, but the easiest is just to press the <Alt> key and while holding it down type the “1” on the numeric keypad of your keyboard. The character will appear after you release the <Alt> key.
The numeric keys above your keyboard won’t work for this.
<Alt> 1 = ?
<Alt> 2 = ?
<Alt> 3 = ?
…and so on.
