This is a secular day that we don’t recognize. The only special day we specifically mark the holocaust is Tisha B’Av. Numerous gedolim have written special Kinos we recite on Tisha B’Ave for the holocaust. (The Bobover Rebbe, Rav Shimon Schwab and others.)

yosef999: If someone wrote (to paraphrase your OP) “I have nothing against blacks, however I can not live with them” and then proceeded to inquire to make sure there weren’t too many blacks in a prospective neighborhood, would you have a problem with that statement? Or do you only have a problem with Jews?

The story of the Maharal’s Golem was known all along from the time of the Maharal and immediately thereafter. The hogwash that it only became known later when someone wrote stories is fallacious.

Majority? How do you count? The children of intermarriage where the mother is Jewish are part of the count. The lost Jews who are Jewish but don’t know they are Jewish, since over the past 2000 years they were kidnapped or otherwise lost are Jewish, including all their maternal descendants until today.

Essentially, starting new shidduchim websites, coming up with ideas to better match guys and gals, making more boy/girl get-togethers (like sponsored by the Agudah’s Invei Hagefen) and other initiatives to get single guys and girls together for a potential shidduch in a more conducive or comfortable environment really do nothing to fix the problem. Whatever amount of people that can get married, are getting married. These aforementioned initiatives doesn’t make any significant increase in the number of shidduchim that occur.

At least this is the net result of accepting the thoughts expressed by the leaders of the age gap theory who say that it is essentially only the age gap that causes the unbalance.
