    Try Yeshivas R’ Chaim Berlin (718) 377-0777. They’re excellent in accommodating boys from different backgrounds, while remaining a regular mainstream yeshiva. As far as tuition breaks goes, I can’t tell you for sure, & I think their policy is like most yeshivos, however, I do know someone who was really doing poorly financially, and sent their children there. You would have to find out who to talk to.

    @apushatayid, those in charge of deciding styles.

    @cv
    , I sure hope the prices on caps won’t go down, that would defeat the whole purpose.

    @YW
    Moderator-29, no this isn’t Purim shtik!

    @Meno
    , a Kangol cap (thanks apushatayid for that word)

    @Burnt Steak, you’re right in theory but the fact is that unless there are a lot of people doing this, it will be impossible to effect.

    @The Goq: The translation is:

    We hereby inform you that starting Pesach 5776, the style of the chareidim will change from wearing a fedora to wearing flat caps, due to the exorbitant prices of fedoras.

    All those who are buying a new hat are requested to buy only a flat cap and not a fedora, in order that they shouldn’t separate themselves from the klal, and so they shouldn’t breach the kabalos of the binei torah, chas vishalom.

    @Dash: This isn’t a rant. It’s a notification and request, so that struggling families shouldn’t have to spend money just because a fedora is a necessity in the yeshiva world. Not a fair comparison to saying no one should buy a car.
