    WIY, the bending on knee proposing tradition stems from the Christian church rite known as genuflection.

    I don’t think Sam2 meant that getting on ones knee is assur in general. He is only talking about proposing like that.

    I think any of the following could be Moshiach:

    Rav Chaim Kanievsky

    Skulener Rebbe

    Rav Ahron Leib Shteinman

    Rav Shmuel Auerbach

    And the Litvish, Chasidish and Sefardish Torah world would *not* have any objections to accepting someone from any of the communities.
