    @AAQ
    1) I don’t know which community you belong to but a) googling popularity isn’t necessarily accurate. b) in the yeshivish chareidi world, we all learn R Elchonons seforim, they’re actually very popular (kovetz shiurim, kovetz heorois, kovetz maamorim) so I’m not sure what you’re talking about
    2) you probably know exactly what I meant by yeshiva world, everyone here understands that both what I meant and who this website is ‘officially’ catering for is the chareidi yeshivish English speaking (mostly american) population. I didn’t think that needed spelling out but I guess ‘rochel bitcha haktana’ for you…
    3)I definitely agree that the way some people express their views on this forum is not respectful, to say the least.

    @square root
    1st of all, the chareidim don’t want to join the army not just cause of bitul Torah but other reasons as well some of which have been mentioned above.
    2nd of all, there’s an obvious difference between the meraglim and the chareidim (even according to that article you brought, which may not be emes anyway-definitelythe part about the golus being over is shtuyot, moshiach didn’t come yet, even if preparationsfor the geulah may have started)
    The meraglim spoke l”H on Ey, and convinced klall yisroel not to want to go in, against the ratzon hashem, the chareidim follow their gedolim like it says in the torah which is the ratzon hashem. So obviously that’s a ridiculous comparison….

    @sqaureroot & @israeliyid
    I don’t get what your doing on this forum.
    This forum was made for the yeshiva world as you may be able to guess by the name….
    The yehuda world follows their gedolim and you won’t convince anyone otherwise on this forum even if you say things to the point (which you usually dont)
    There are plenty of news sights NOT chareidi, go enjoy them. What’s the point of posting these comments (which you do quite often)? Is it cause youre bored? You enjoy machlokes? I would love an explanation.

    Why are you only picking on hakatan? Square root said that the entire chareidi world is like the meraglim. That’s also “slandering an entire community of Orthodox Jews.”

    I am shocked at what your suggesting that the frum world follows “the modern day interpretation of the Rabbanim” rather than the literal torah.
    if by literal torah you mean only torah shebichsav your an apikores like the tzedokim (rambam 13 ikrim). If you mean something else I’m not sure what that is, but we obv arent mekayeim mechiyas amalek for more than one VALID reason (as apposed to “avoiding by claiming”).
    1 we’re in golus and it not possible to be mekayme that mitzva realistically
    2 what you yourself say, that we dont know who amalek is, but if you learnt any gemara it would be poshut to you that thats not an excuse its an actual reason a) the gemara says that ashur mixed all the nations so theres always on every goy a roiv that he’s not amalek (same reason that we can accept geirim even tho theres certain nation which cant marry into klall yisroel)
    b) even w/o that, mehaiche taisi that your mechuyav to raise money to do genetic testing to figure out whos amalek (if its even possible)
