saute in frying pan with colored peppers, onions and cashews. With equal parts duck sauce and teriyaki sauce. Serve over rice.
Personally, I find it much more annoying that I do have an English name. My Hebrew name has a “ch” in it so it’s hard to pronounce, but it’s much easier to correct that than to start remembering when do I go by my English name or when do I go by Hebrew name? It’s so confusing to live with “two” names. All my legal statements – credit cards, business checks… have to be with my English name, but I don’t like calling myself that.
I once heard that it is good to drink sports drinks (i.e. powerade, gatorade) for a couple of days before the fast. This adds extra nutrients to your body that you will be losing when you fast. This has worked very well for me the past couple of years.
I grew up out of town where my father has been the Rabbi of a Young Israel for more than 20 years. All the women cover their hair and all the men are involved in Torah learning on a daily basis. The community has been growing by leaps and bounds and the “young” people far outnumber the “older” ones.
Every community is different and I think the term “Young Israel” can mean something different everywhere you go.
