    The Dems also solved the $$$$ crisis, Take it from the rich and give it to the poor! Sometimes we have to live with a crisis and try to help as much as possible by redding Shidduchim instead of telling everyone what age they should marry. If you have Chasidim Marry Misnagdim that will also solve the crisis.

    I am a Shadchan and I don’t do it for the money. B’H I have a business and I have income from elsewhere. I just had someone go out 5 times and it didn’t work, they sent me a gift card and a nice silver dish. I did not use the dish or the gift card they sent since I don’t feel comfortable using these gifts, however one thing is sure I will try for her again.

    Very normal and accepted however not by the mother-in-law. I know of some shadchanim and mentors that use this method to help their clients. I know how to read handwritings and I find it very helpful in dealing with people. If it’s used the right way it can be a good tool.

    Not all dates cost than much but not all dates that are set up take 15 min. Every Shaddchan knows how many hours go into setting up Shidduchim. The idea is not to change the system, the idea is that since that Shadchanim is not a liked job, in order to have more people getting involved in Shidduchim some kind of new payments should be implemented.

    A date can cost $250.00 in travel. I just had a friend that flew to Toronto to date and it cost him $750+ for Travel.

    I am just about to set up the sixth date for this week, I spent 8 hours on this next one and they are just going on the first date. Try picking the high apples not the low ones. Some are easy however some are very complicated.

    Hey Shaddchan! If you can’t pull off a Shidduch then find another way to subsidize your income. After all the way the world is set up is that if you make a Shidduch you get paid if not then you have wasted your time.

    I can’t believe what a can of worms I opened up.

    For a date a boy spends:

    Car rental: $45.-$85

    Gas and tolls: $25.-$250.

    Parking $35-$69

    Drinks or food: $5-$150.

    Clothing and cleaners: $7.-$50

    Total $117-$604

    And the Shadchan even if he/she gets $150 (after 3 dates) for 25 hours = $6 an hour

    I would never want to Redd a Shidduch.
