Stocks Fall After Dow, S&P 500 Records

Stocks fell in early trading Friday, retreating from record levels following disappointing results from longtime favorites Caterpillar Inc. and Google Inc. In the bond market, the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note fell to 5 percent and at times slipped below that threshold. The pullback came a day after the Dow Jones industrial average finished above 14,000 for the first time and the Standard & Poor’s 500 index likewise logged a record close. (APP)
