On Monday July 29, 2013 at approximately 4:15pm, State Police at Liberty responded to a report of a woman lying unconscious in the roadway at the intersection of Bridge St and River Rd in the hamlet of Callicoon. An investigation determined that the woman had been struck by an unknown make/model vehicle that then fled the scene. The victim is identified as Judith Feldman, age 60, of New York, NY. She was flown from the scene to Westchester Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition and being treated for a fractured skull.

State Police were assisted at the scene by the Upper Delaware Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Callicoon Fire Department.
