PA’s Dr. Saeb Erekat Disappointed but Hopeful With Obama Victory

For the PA’s Dr. Saeb Erekat, a former close associate of Yasser Arafat and senior negotiator, the election of US President Barak Obama is a far better outcome in the election than if Mitt Romney would have unseated him. That said Erekat is angry and disappointed at Barak’s performance during his first term in office.

Erekat told the media that the US president during his second term must make certain that the State of Palestine is established; explaining the president does not have to worry about stopping the creation of the state, but he should take measures to stop continues “settlement expansion”.

“We have decided to take our cause to the United Nations this month, and we hope that Obama will stand by us,” Erekat told WAFA, the official PA (Palestinian Authority) news agency. He made is clear that “no one will stop us”, exhibiting a tenacious determination to gain observer nation status from the General Assembly, visibly frustrated by the botched Arab Spring of last year.

  1. Wait, someone from the PA wanted Romney to win? According to the logic of most on here, that means Romney must therefore be a terrorist-loving Muslim. That’s how it works, right?
