Outgoing NYPD Commissioner Is Taking Security Job At Visa


New York City’s police commissioner will be going to work for Visa Inc. on Dec. 2.

The company said in a statement Wednesday that James O’Neill will be a senior vice president and global head of physical security.

O’Neill announced Monday that he will be retiring from the New York Police Department.

Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea will succeed him.

  1. Smart move. After decades of public service (and government pay caps) he can finish off his career making some money at a salary of 3x times what he made working for the City. Same happened 2 years ago when D.C. police Commish resigned to take job as “Head of Security” for the NFL>
