An Iranian cluster missile fired by Iran at central Israel on Tuesday morning scored a direct hit on a Tel Aviv street next to a residential building, causing a crater to form in the street, extensive damage to several buildings, and the almost total destruction of several parked cars.
In an incredible neis, the munition hit a building that had been designated for urban renewal (TAMA) and had already been evacuated of its residents.
A large number of firefighters and rescue forces, along with Home Front Command and police forces, were deployed to the site and found a scene of extensive destruction and vehicles on fire. To their amazement, only four people were very lightly injured from smoke inhalation at the impact site. They were treated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.
Residents reported three other impact sites in Tel Aviv. Shrapnel also fell in the cities of Rosh Ha’Ayin and Netanya, causing fires to break out.
Tel Aviv District Police Commander Chaim Sargaroff said at the scene of the impact on HaKatan Street in central Tel Aviv that it was a direct hit by “a missile in the range of 100 kilograms (220 pounds).”
The missile barrage was the sixth fired at central Israel since midnight.
According to estimates, the missile held a cluster warhead with three or four bombs weighing 100 kilograms each.
