A Pomona man was arrested on felony charges last night in connection with a string of burglaries that took place within hours of one another in the village, officials said.
According to Detective Robert Bookstein of the Spring Valley Police, around 3 a.m. yesterday, police found that the door of the 7 Days Express Deli & Convenience on Route 59 had been smashed.
Then, just before 6 a.m., police found that four stores along a North Myrtle Avenue strip mall had been burglarized – Eli Bagels, Monsey Hats, Big Z Barber Shop and Big Z Beauty Salon. In each case, the window or door was smashed with a cement block or brick, Bookstein said. The man was believed to have stolen small amounts of money and was awaiting arraignment at Spring Valley Justice Court as of last night, police said.
