  1. “He was literally just a few feet from where he had just been walking less than 2 seconds earlier.”

That’s some stellar reporting, right there.

  2. What bad reporting! Look at the video and you can clearly see that the vehicle going down Ave N was the one that blew through the red light. I still cannot believe that YWN calls itself a news outlet. Get the facts straight and report the facts.

  3. I am still trying to figure out how this is E 17th and Ave N. A car traveling north on E 17th when approaching Ave N would see the cars traveling left to right as it is one way East. Based on direction the car traveling on Ave N is traveling west not east.

  4. I live in this neighborhood- when my light turns green, I hesitate to make sure that nobody is running the red light, which unfortunately seems to be almost the norm these days.

Chas V’Sholom, a child could have been injured or worse.

  5. I don’t get the confusion. The car traveling on Ave. N is traveling on the same road as the car with the dashcam, which is East. That car, on N blew the light early, which is what the article reported. The car on 17th was traveling north and was struck by the car traveling through the red on Ave. N.

  6. I apologize as i I misread the details. I thought the dash cam car was on E17th. I was wondering why the building which I know is on the northeast corner was in the wrong part of the frane. Car traveling down Ave N makes more sense.

  7. There is a brief period of time that traffic lights are red in both directions, on NYC traffic signals.

It is probable that both cars went through red.
