Why Private Education Is Worth Your Attention


Over the years, the number of parents and guardians taking their children to private schools has increased drastically. Even though such a system is costly, it has proven to be more effective and efficient in its education delivery. 

Most private institutions have a common feature; they are less populated, unlike public ones. This means that a child gets more attention from educators in a more conducive environment for their studies. 

In Las Vegas, there are multiple private schools, some of which are often ranked top 10 in the United States.  In Summerlin, there are about two-dozen schools where 11 are reputable private schools and 16 are public schools. The educational department in Summerlin is well advanced to track academic accomplishments, cultural accolades, and victories more so in athletics.  Summerlin is on top of the games when it comes to education.  

Of the 11 private schools, two of them are:

K-12 Adelson Educational Campus (AEC)

AEC is a Jewish community school located in Nevada. It is a PK-12, the only one of its kind that opens its doors to everyone.  At AEC, it is more than just about being educated; it is about gaining and identity. 

Based on Jewish ethics and culture, the school is independent and academically oriented. The schools have been built on a state-of-the-art campus, and children aged 18 months all through the 12th grade are natured with a step by step guidance to ensure they come out intelligent, compassionate, responsible, and dynamic young adults. 

The school brands its graduates with confidence and high academic qualification to help secure them in top universities worldwide. 

The school has a population of 500 students with a teacher-student ratio of 7:1.  It rests on a 14-acres piece of land in The Hills Village. Generally, the campus comprises of three schools that are; 

  • The Milton I. Schwartz Hebrew Academy PreK-4 was founded in 1993.

  • The Adelson Middle School grade 5-8 opened in 2007.

  • The Adelson Upper School grade 9-12 opened in 2008. 

The net worth of the entire campus is about $65 million. It has a cutting-edge library plus a technology centre,  several science labs, and classrooms. There are instrumental music rooms accompanied by a 350-seat performing arts theatre plus indoor and outdoor art studios. 

There are sport and fitness centres that comprise of an indoor competition-sized pool and a leisure pool. There are two basketball courts, a volleyball court, an indoor running track, a fencing area, and an outdoor soccer field and tennis courts.

SOLOMON SCHECHTER DAY SCHOOL OF LAS VEGAS

Located at the Temple Beth Sholom in The Crossing Village, Solomon Schechter Day School of Las Vegas was founded in 2000. It is a Jewish private school that caters for students in grade K-6. Overall, there are 83 students in grades PK where grade K has a student-teacher ratio of 9:2.  The campus has vast classrooms, a worship center, playground and modern day kitchen.  The school offers aftercare for its students in all ages. 

State-wise, Summerlin is regarded as the #1 new home sales in 2020. It is a master-planned community; a phrase used to rank organizations based on their amenities such as parks. It had 414 house sales between July and September 2020, a 20% increase from the sales of late 2019. Overall from Jan to September, there were about 982 sales which were 4% down from the recorded 1,024 sales of the whole of 2019. 

 In terms of education and real estate, Summerlin is advancing fast. With top-rated schools, numerous amenities, and house sales, the community will soon be ranked as the #1 master-planned community in Las Vegas and the U.S.A.
