Anti-Semite Rev. Al Sharpton has reportedly been asked by multiple people about running for New York governor in 2022.
The New York Times reports Sharpton, a weekend host for MSNBC and a former 2004 Democratic presidential candidate, has been approached by associates of state Attorney General Letitia James, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli and Rep. Thomas Suozzi to run in next year’s race amid the fallout of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s misconduct allegations.
Sharpton’s name has emerged as Cuomo continues to lose support from high-profile Democratic politicians, including President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and 70% of New Yorkers believe Cuomo should resign.
For those that are unaware, or need a reminder, Shaprton is the rabid anti-Semite, who fueled the Crown Heights riots 27 years ago that ended with the murder of Yankel Rosenbaum HY”D.
Thirty years ago a tragic car accident in Crown Heights Brooklyn escalated into a pogrom against the Jewish people. The media usually gives it a politically correct description: “violence between the area’s Blacks and Jews.” But the violence was not two-sided. The Crown Heights riot was an attack on the Jews by the neighborhood’s black community, fueled in large part by Al Sharpton, the “Reverend” who does not believe in the commandment about “bearing false witness.”
During the riots, Jews were injured, stores were looted, and cars and homes were damaged. The rioters identified Jewish homes by their Mezuzos.
On the third day of disturbances, Al Sharpton and Sonny Carson led a march of protesters chanting, “No Justice, No Peace!,” “Death to the Jews!” and “Whose streets? Our streets!” The mob displayed anti-Semitic signs and burned an Israeli flag.

Be careful what you wish for- in this day and age of blue state politics there will always be worse options than the Clintons and Cuomo’s of the world.
I remember those days very vividly, even though I was living in the relative safety of Boro Park. It was frightening. It is difficult to get the image of the petrified father cowering and attempting to shield his young son from the frenzied mob- all while police officers stood several feet away doing nothing.
This would be an excellent recipe to bolster chances of a Republican governor candidate romping to victory by huge landslide of epidemic proportion, latching onto a tidal red tsunami taking back both houses.
Please please please do run! I hope he wins too! Crash and burn New York!

There’s no chance he’ll run. He wields much more power by being a private citizen.
What’s the big deal. Questioning Sharpton’s bona fides to lead the Democrats would be as logical as arguing the Hitler was unfit to lead the National Socialist party since he was an anti-semite.
The text of the Times report (on line, on 8/10/2021) on possible Democratic nominees for governor, if Cuomo resigns, reads in part as follows:
“Mr. Sharpton, whose Harlem headquarters is a mandatory way station for Democratic aspirants, said that political associates of Ms. James, Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, Representative Thomas Suozzi of Long Island and Mayor Bill de Blasio had all approached him to sound him out about the 2022 governor’s race.
“’It’s going to be very difficult for the governor to stay in, and I think it’s going to open up the primary season early,’” Mr. Sharpton said.
It is unclear from this text whether anyone speaking to Sharpton wanted him as a candidate, or whether they were asking for his endorsement of their own or someone else’s candidacy, or just some general advice. I ask the YWN editors to be more careful about their interpretations of other news. The YWN editors are on guard for news of anti-Semitism but must be careful to report it accurately. And the editors might consider getting a more recent photo of Sharpton – he’s lost weight, switched to dress suits instead of track suits, and restyled his locks. I don’t know whether Sharpton has owned up to all his old falsehoods, deceptions, flim-flams and anti-Semitic statements. I presume that the YWN editors have checked that out.
I did some quick checking on line about whether he has owned up to his past anti-Semitism and other bad behavior. Apparently, the Rev has not owned up to his past.
As for his taxes, he was charged, tried and acquitted, about 10 years ago. I followed the case and thought he was guilty. I don’t know anything about his taxes since that time, but if he beat the rap once, why would he not continue his tax-cheating behavior?
Actually Huju, the New York Post reported in 2019 that the Rev still owed $700,000 in taxes for three of his companies. These financial misdeeds are only the smallest issues with this hoodlum/cable news pundit.
