THE FIGHT IS ON: Former Allies Trump and Christie Chew Into Each Other as 2024 Race Heats Up

The first primaries and caucuses are still more than a year away, but the race for the Republican nomination in 2024 is already well under way, with candidates and former allies taking potshots at each other – including Donald Trump and former NJ Gov. Chris Christie.

Christie, who was a key part of Trump’s debate preparation in his previous presidential runs, has taken numerous swipes at the former president after Trump reportedly infected him with Covid-19 – an infection that caused Christie to land in the hospital for a week – and then was only concerned that Christie would blame him.

In a Sunday post on Truth Social, Trump took a swipe at Christie, calling him “sloppy” and making fun of his previous bid for the presidency.

““Sloppy” Chris Christie, the failed former Governor of New Jersey, spent almost his entire last year in office campaigning in New Hampshire for the Republican Nomination for President. Much like his term in office, where he left with an Approval Rating of just 9%, his Presidential campaign was a complete disaster. He endorsed me the following day, later recommended Chris Wray for the FBI (how did that work out?), went down in flames, and then was SALVAGED by ABC FAKE NEWS. I never wanted him!” Trump wrote.

Trump’s outburst was prompted by comments Christie made on ABC News earlier Sunday in which he said he doesn’t think the former president could beat Biden in 2024.

Christie responded to Trump’s swipe at him several hours later on Twitter.

“I’m the target of Donald Trump’s new tantrum,” wrote Christie. “None of his lies about me today bothered him when he asked me to prep him for every general election debate or offered me 3 different cabinet posts. He’s the only man to lose to Biden outside Delaware. That loss to Joe still stings.”

  1. My prediction for 2024:
Trump loses the GOP nomination by a narrow margin to Ron DeSantis; throws a huge tantrum and claims it was fraudulent; scenario 1: Trump hints to his ‘base’ to stay home on election day, or scenario 2: runs as an independent and burns half of the Republican vote; gives Biden an easy victory.
    MARK MY WORDS!!
