bo.jpg(Click HERE for photos) This past Sunday morning, August 3, the Deal, NJ area Jewish communities hosted the 2nd annual event to benefit Bonei Olam. The elegant, poolside breakfast was held at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Eli and Rena Cohen, noted community leaders renowned for their generous hearts and open home.

From the moment you walked into the Cohen’s backyard you knew you were in for a delightful morning of inspiration and unity that you would forever be etched in your mind. The people in attendance came from across the entire spectrum of Jewish communities on the Jersey Shore and beyond, from Deal and Long Branch, from Lakewood and Brooklyn; they all came to be a part of this wonderful event for this one-of-a-kind cause.

When strolling through the spacious backyard, one couldn’t help but notice the caliber of the people in attendance. Distinguished rabbis from the community, as well as some rabbis from France and Israel, were in attendance, as well as may prominent community activists.

An unprecedented crowd of close to 300 people attended the event throughout the morning hours. “I wouldn’t miss the Bonei Olam event for anything in the world” said Jackie H., one of the participants, “This organization is there for the community, and it’s my duty as a community member to be there for them, especially when they come to Deal.” Many of the other participants echoed similar sentiments. There was just a certain electric feeling of unity in the crowd of people that came to show their support for Bonei Olam.

All in attendance got to hear the heartwarming words of Rabbi Raymond Beyda, a noted lecturer in the community and a close personal friend of Eli Cohen. Rabbi Beyda conveyed his personal knowledge of the wonderful work of Bonei Olam in Deal, Brooklyn and across the world. The highlight of his speech was when he descended from the podium into the crowd, only to return with 4 month old Michelle in his arms. Michelle isn’t just a cute baby; she is a Bonei Olam baby born to her parents, residents of Deal, after many years of childlessness, with the assistance of Bonei Olam. Michelle- one of over 1,100 babies born to formerly childless couples- received a long standing ovation from the entire audience.

Next, the crowd heard from the esteemed breakfast chairman, Mr. Harry Adjmi, who described the unbelievable kindness and generosity of the Deal community as a whole to all charitable causes, and to Bonei Olam in particular.

The audience was then spellbound by the words of one of Bonei Olam’s founders, Mr. Benyamin Kleinbart who described with clarity – from personal experience- the pain and hardship that a childless couple experiences on a daily basis, and throughout the year. His words which came directly from the heart, made their way into the hearts of all that were listening.

After that the assembled watched a most stirring and emotional video presentation, produced by Mr. Chaim Rosen of L’Chaim Video productions,  describing the many complex services offered by Bonei Olam. There was hardly a dry eye in the crowd, as people realized that so many couples could be helped out of their predicaments were they to have the necessary funds to go ahead with their treatments.

All in attendance were in awe as to the scope and range of Bonei Olam’s vital work in the community and across the globe. In the words of the evening host, Mr. Eli Cohen: “Last year we stood here celebrating the births of 700 babies. One year later we stand here and celebrate an additional 400 babies in one year! How awesome a celebration is this! And how awesome a responsibility is this for us to continue supporting Bonei Olam”

Bonei Olam, a worldwide organization that finances fertility treatments for couples has made it its mission to be able to assist each and every couple that approaches them for assistance, and has in fact already spent over 20 Million dollars on fertility, genetic, high risk pregnancy as well as adoption related treatments for couples in the United States, Israel and across the globe.

Bonei Olam relies upon the support of people in Jewish communities– through their various breakfasts, dinners and other fund raising events-  to help them continue their crucial work, and never have to say “ no” to any couple in need.

Bonei Olam has been there for the Deal Jewish community – which has dozens of Bonei Olam babies to date- and Baruch Hashem the Deal Jewish community continues to be there for Bonei Olam!

May Hashem answer all the prayers of all the Jewish mothers and fathers that are waiting for their chance to have the ONE child they dream of; the one child that they truly deserve!
