FLATBUSH: Jewish Man Robbed At Gunpoint; NYPD And Shomrim Investigating


In a concerning incident on Monday evening, an Jewish man was the victim of an armed robbery at McDonald Avenue and Avenue S, directly in front of the Magen David Yeshiva. The perpetrators displayed a firearm and made off with the victim’s wallet and watch.

Preliminary reports suggest that the same group may have been involved in a subsequent robbery shortly after the initial incident. The suspects, who were seen fleeing the scene in a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, remain at large, prompting authorities to issue a plea for public assistance.

Should anyone encounter these individuals or the vehicle in question, it is urged that they immediately contact 911 and Flatbush Shomrim at 718-338-9797. Timely reporting of any sightings can be instrumental in aiding law enforcement in their pursuit.

A statement issued by the Magen David Yeshiva (MDY) described the alarming event, indicating that it occurred approximately 45 minutes after their security team had completed their daily duties. Upon learning of the incident, both the NYPD and Shomrim were promptly notified by the Yeshiva.

MDY has responded to this unsettling incident by intensifying their outdoor security presence during non-school hours. The institution is committed to further enhancing security measures across all areas to ensure the safety of its students and the broader community.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of these criminal activities.

The NYPD and Flatbush Shomrim have increased their patrols in the area.
