Former New York governor and current mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo issued a striking public apology Wednesday for his administration’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic — a mea culpa delivered directly to Jewish New Yorkers, the community he most visibly targeted with pandemic lockdowns.

This apology would have sounded more sincere had he given it before running for mayor.
לא נשכח ולא נסלח
Heshy Tishler for Mayor!!
Did you actually watch and listen to his words before writing about those?
It was not “striking”, and it was barely apologetic.
Antiochus said that they made decisions with the “best of intentions”, but that those decisions “caused pain” and that they “could have done better”. That was the gist of the “apology”.
How was it the “best of intentions” to red-zone certain Jewish neighborhoods that had better Covid numbers than their nearby non-Jewish neighborhoods which were, of course, not red-zoned?
How was it the “best of intentions” to renege on his original promise to Agudah of going by percentage, by instead limiting every shul to exactly 10 attendees, whether that shul had 100 square feet or 10,000 square feet?
And on and on.
Frankly, I’m surprised he bothered to do even this.
He definitely didn’t need to apologize for anything but if it will help him in election then it’s fine with me.
That’s why we need Curtis sliwa
He tells as it is
No forgiveness given. He was terrible.
However I and I am sure all Jews hope he wins, as we would be much better off with him than the socialist Mandani
He is the better of 2 evils.
Not convinced can’t bring back all those that died as a result of his actions.
Forgave all Jews as per deliniated in tefilas zaka, but was not mochel him for what he’s asking nor should the families of thousands of nursing home elderly he recklessly force-infected and killed.
He also should apologize to G-d for claiming credit for ‘ flattening the curve’.
Interesting that he should even bother. His opponent openly advocates having pogroms in New York City.
I agree 1 has every right to not forgive Cuomo for the damage he inflicted and I wish Curtis Sliwa actually had a realistic chance of winning the election because I would clearly want him to win from the present candidates but since based on the polls that’s not the case the only thing to do pragmatically is vote for Cuomo since he’s still the lesser of 2 evils compared to Mamdani (both regarding the jewish community and their prospective policies of being mayor of nyc) and continue to try with any means necessary to get Sliwa to drop out of the race to at least bederech hateva make it possible for Mamdani to actually lose the election which should be our main goal.
