A Holocaust memorial was vandalized in western Ukraine in the town of Khmelnitsky. The monument was established on the site of a Nazi massacre of 8,000 Jews. Local Jewish activists cleaning the site discovered that the monument to Holocaust victims had been damaged and the plaque broken. The activists appealed to the town council to build a fence along the perimeter of the memorial. Police are investigating.
