Brooklyn: Jewish Man, Serving On Jury Dies Of Heart Attack While Hearing Testimony


A Brooklyn grand juror died today when he suffered a heart attack while hearing testimony on a case.

The 49-year-old man, had just been empanelled on an extended grand jury duty this week when he keeled over and passed out in the jury box on the 17th floor of Brooklyn Supreme Court around 1 p.m.

The assistant district attorney on the case leapt into action and started CPR in an attempt to revive the man. Court officers also rushed to the juror’s aid with a defibrillator and shocked the man three times.

He died in transit to Long Island College Hospital, fire department sources said.

Court officials suspended grand jury duty for the day after the incident.

Sources tell YWN that the man has been identified by Jed Jacobs A”H, a resident of Brighton Beach. Misaskim was contacted moments after he was pronounced dead, and has been working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to ensure Kavod Haniftar is given.

The Levaya will be held at Midwood Chapels – time unknown.
