The PA (Palestinian Authority) Maan News Agency reports that Jerusalem City Hall has approved the establishment of the Jewish Heritage Museum in the Kosel Plaza area, in proximity of al-Aqsa Mosque.
The report in the daily HaMevaser speaks of a complex encompassing 3,700 square meters near the Mughrabi entrance to Har HaBayis. The report states the museum will have exhibits, an expansive library and serve as a venue for special programming highlighting the history of Am Yisrael.
The structure will be five stories, two underground, and it will serve settlers and foreign tourists visiting the Kosel area, warning the site is that of the ruins of structures holy to Islam and Arab culture.
The report adds that national government approval for the project is still pending.
