A very serious vehicular accident occurred in Eretz Yisrael on motzei Shabbos, a few minutes close to midnight on the Coastal Road near Zichron Yaakov. A van collided into the guardrail leading to a chain accident involving a number of other vehicles. The injured were transported to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.

It appears the van hit the guardrail and flipped over, and the other vehicles either did not see it or were unable to stop in time, running into the first vehicle.

A woman passenger in one of the vehicles, in the later stages of pregnancy was injured and it took firefighters about 30 minutes to extricate her from the twisted metal wreckage. She was listed in serious condition upon arrival in the trauma unit at Rambam. She underwent surgery during the night and the infant was delivered in an emergency procedure as well. The infant, a baby girl, died a short time later. The mother is reported to be recovering from her injuries following the life-saving surgery.

The tzibur is asked to be mispallel for Naomi Rachel bas Orna Tzila and her husband Shmuel ben Esther as well as Moshe ben Miriam and his wife Yehudis Aliza bas Yaffa.
