NYPD Supervisors Placed On Desk Duty Following Officer’s DWI Arrest

Two New York City Police Department supervisors are on modified duty after an on-duty officer in Brooklyn was arrested for driving drunk. Officer Christopher Morris, 31, was arrested Tuesday morning after crashing his patrol car into a light pole at the corner of Sutter and Schenck Avenues in East New York.

According to court documents, Morris admitted to having a few drinks at the Lindenwood Diner during a fundraiser for the family of Officer Peter Figoski, who was shot and killed in December.

After the arrest, the department put two precinct supervisors on modified duty.

They could be disciplined for failure to supervise.
