Community Leaders Unite In Support Of Councilman Chaim Deutsch Re-election Bid

In an open letter to the Flatbush community, more than sixty prominent rabbonim and askanim declared their support for Councilman Chaim Deutsch in his re-election bid. These leaders represent a broad cross-section of our community, as well as all the major organizations and mosdos throughout the greater Flatbush area.

The letter references the Councilman’s well-earned reputation for constituent accessibility, stating in part, “As our representative in the New York City Council, Chaim Deutsch has been a tireless advocate on behalf of our community. He is known for his stellar constituent services, and his office was rated as one of the most responsive across New York City.”

Referring specifically to positive changes that Deutsch has made for our neighborhood, the letter continues, “He has fought on behalf of our yeshivas and shuls, bringing much-needed resources into our community. He has worked to cut the bureaucratic red tape for parents of special needs children and to secure millions of dollars for vital nonprofit organizations like Hatzolah, Shomrim, Masbia, Agudah, OHEL, and COJO Flatbush.”

With notable rabbonim and community leaders including Rabbi Yisroel Reisman, Rabbi Moshe Tuvia Lieff, Rabbi Dovid Goldwasser, Rabbi Moshe Scheinerman, Rabbi Aharon Harari-Raful, Rabbi Shimon Alster, and Rabbi Moshe Shmiel Rottenberg signed on; the endorsement letter is a strong push for unity, urging the community to support the incumbent to ensure that a proven advocate remains in City Hall.
