Exchanges of of Rocks by Arabs and Jews in Ramat Shlomo on Shabbos

At least two Jews and an Arab were injured in rock-throwing at one-another in Jerusalem’s Ramat Shlomo (Reches Shuafat) neighborhood on shabbos. According to one report, Arabs from the neighboring area were apprehended red handed stealing in Ramat Shlomo, leading the youths to begin throwing stones, which were met with stones from Shuafat at the border of the communities.

Border police arrived to restore order, but not before a female officer was injured in her face and a number of cars were damaged. Three youths from Ramat Shlomo were arrested, one believed responsible for injuring the border policewoman.

Sadly, as in many cases, Israel’s media does it share of damage regarding the international community’s viewing Yerushalayim as occupied. In this case, Ynet reports that Ramat Shlomo is an “enclave”, which takes the word to the absurd, a neighborhood in the capital viewed as some makeshift outpost or illegal encampment.
