Due to the dire shortage of classrooms in the chareidi mosdos, Jerusalem City Hall has approved an additional 100 classrooms in the city, in Sorotzkin, Givat Shaul, Nvei Yaakov and Geula. The approval is credited to Deputy Mayor R Yitzchak Pindrus, who holds the education portfolio on the city council.
While politicians seem to routinely attack the chareidi tzibur for being parasites and getting too large a share of the budgetary pie, rarely will one find a public school operating under the difficult overcrowding conditions seen in many mosdos throughout the country.
