Maariv Holds its First Strike

Employees of the daily Maariv and its affiliate NRG website on Tuesday, announced they will be striking on Wednesday, marking the newspapers first strike in its 64-year history.

The workers feel management broke the collective agreement in the recent sale of the newspaper to Shlomo Ben-Tzvi, in which the latter will only be hiring 80 employees and not 350 as they understood to be the case.

Strikers are expected to return to work on Thursday.
