Court Rejects Bid from Bayit HaYehudi Veteran MKs

The Tel Aviv District Court on Monday, rejected a petition from veteran Bayit HaYehudi officials who opposed the planned securing of slots on the party lineup for a female and young candidate.

The approximately 54,000 registered party members are voting today, Tuesday, and this vote will determine the position of the candidates in the Knesset lineup. Realizing their waning popularity, the veteran members went to court seeking to challenge a decision to secure the third and forth slots for a female and young person repetitively, but the court would not hear of it, honoring the party’s decision.

Following the election of Naftali Bennett as the new party leader, ousting veteran Zevulun Orlev, Orlev and associates then moved to secure a higher place on the party roster but the court did not accept the petition.

The polls close at 22:00 and a computer will tabulate the votes and rating system, thereby assigning the candidates their position in the lineup.
