Ban Urges ‘Maximum Restraint’ After Israel-Hamas Ceasefire – Sirens Continue In Southern Israel [9:43PM IL]

U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon urged Israel and Hamas to stick to pledges under a ceasefire deal which came into effect on Wednesday to end the eight-day conflict around the Gaza Strip

“We urge the parties who agreed to the ceasefire to keep their promises. There may be challenges implementing this agreement,” Ban told reporters after talks with King Abdullah at the monarch’s residence in the Jordanian capital.

Ban urged the two sides to exercise “maximum restraint”.

Despite this statement, Hamas was still firing rockets into Israel – almost an hour after the ceasefire went into effect.

  1. Israel has to show muscle not restraint, that will bring the enemy to the table.unconditional surrender of the terrorist leadership for the benifit of those “civilian gazans” if they exist

  2. what a joke!!!!!!! just more of lets kick Israel for being stand up while Arabs do not need to stand behind what they agree to!!!!!!!

kill them all if they fail to uphold their commitment

  3. I am sickened by this turn of events, Israel has just shown itself to have learnt NOTHING from 12 years of rocket fire – how dare they leave Hamas in power after everything that has happened!!
