Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Thursday, 15 Kislev 5773 begins an official visit in New York City. He will be meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon, and he will tell him the PA (Palestinian Authority) move seeking non-member nation observer status in the General Assembly will just serve to �increase the disagreement� between the PA and Israel.
Liberman explains that while it is known in advance the move will be approved with a large majority, the move adds to the disagreement and diminishes the chance of Israel and the PA reaching agreement.
The media reports that the United States made a final attempt to persuade PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) to back down from the planned move, but as in the past, the PA leader rejected the US request.
