HaGaon HaRav Aaron Leib Shteinman Shlita spoke on Sunday night the eve of 18 Teves 5773 at the Yahadut Hatorah asifa that was held in Ohr Yehuda.

The Gadol Hador explained “we know that we are all responsible for one another, and this responsibility pertains to the individual and even more so when we are talking about the communal level.” The rav stressed the importance of voting for Gimmel, Yahadut Hatorah towards the future success of the “Olam Hatorah”.

The rav stated the upcoming elections are a matter of “life and death” and one who does not vote has transgressed ‘לא תעמוד על דם רעך”. Rav Shteinman used the analogy of a fire, and one opts not to take the necessary measures to save lives.

A son of Rav HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita spoke as well, stating Rav Shteinman’s voice was that of his father’s as well regarding the upcoming general elections.
