A Call from Gedolei Yisrael Shlita Regarding Yom Kippur Koton

tAhead of Rosh Chodesh Sivan 5773, Gedolei Yisrael Shlita have released a call for tefilla on this upcoming Yom Kippur Koton, Thursday, 29 Iyar 5773.

Letters have been signed by HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Halevy Wosner Shlita, HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita, HaGaon HaRav Nissim Karelitz Shlita and HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita.

The call to the tzibur addresses efforts to draft bnei yeshivos as well as efforts to compromise the education of the chareidi tzibur, referring to threats to cut yeshiva funding if schools do not agree to introduce ‘core subjects’.

The Gedolim call on the tzibur to use the day for Tehillim, tefilos, and teshuvah. The tzibur is urged to recite the tefilla of the Shelah HaKodosh as well as Tehillim Chapters 13, 83, 130, and 142.

  1. “We have to fight fire with fire.” The answer is to stop taking the money. You don’t want to be forced to teach the “core” subjects, well don’t take the money. You’re upset about the reduction in child subsidy, then, don’t take the money! Are you upset about the change in health insurance? Don’t take the money! Now that we have a generation of junkies, it’s time to go cold turkey. DON’T TAKE THE MONEY!

  2. Jerry: I agree. We have to tell the Israeli Government exactly what you said: “Don’t take the money!” We’ll keep our own money instead of paying taxes to the zionist government, and we won’t take their money.

  3. Pays to add tefillohs for peace from all the neighboring borders of Eretz Yisroel.
We recite these Tefillos on Yom Yerusholayim after Hallel.
